Licensed Professional Counselor
“In your vulnerability Lies Your Strength”
-Sigmund Freud
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a Department of Transportation Substance abuse Professional. I received my master’s degree from Kutztown University in 2017. Counseling is a second career for me as I spent most of my working career in the private business sector. I felt a call to complete my counseling degree and shift into work that I truly love. It has been an incredible internal journey and I have been so grateful for the opportunity to be where I am today.
The certifications in drug and alcohol are another layer in my counseling skills and not an exclusive scope of practice for me. I am proficient with diverse populations and have experience in clients of all ages from adolescent to seniors. I see individuals, couples, families and co-parents. I work well with members of the LGBTQ+ community, those with disabilities, eating disorders, substance abuse, personality disorders and other mental health conditions. I am also able to work with those who are unsure what they want to gain from counseling and want to explore ways to identify goals they have not been able to fully clarify.
I work from a solution focused and client centered perspective. Helping people remember solutions they may already have that may have been forgotten. I think that we all have strengths we may not recognize. Old solutions to new problems.
I believe in the use of family systems interventions to look at ways problems develop and how challenging our belief systems can assist in creating new understanding of the problem of addiction. I also work with dual diagnosis problems and recognize that which came first is not as important as how mental health and addiction are highly interactive and create challenges for those who experience both conditions.
